ROLE : Events Manager & Promoter

Initially Event-by-Event Basis, Growing to a Full Position on Proof of Role

LOOK.sharp has long been known as the spot to meet fellow internationals and their admirers, with an open and inclusive concept offering events designed for making new connections in the Global Context.

Up until now we have planned, promoted and managed over 700 events over the last 3 years ranging from Games Nights, to Discussion evenings, Live music, Dance, Comedy, Occasional DJ Nights & Parties as well as hosting Daytime Events in Writing or Book Clubs, Art and Self-Care Sessions.

We are now on the LOOK.Out for the right candidate to handle our Events starting with a couple events/days that are in need of being revitalised. Paid as a basic event rate plus return on attendance collected at the door. Events will be designed and marketed carefully within the Cafe Brand Identity.

Tools that you will be using are :

  • Facebook, Meetup & EventBrite for Signups

  • Squarespace for Scheduling in Our Website

  • Canva for Visual Promotional Materials (To Brand Standard)

  • InDesign for in Cafe Promotional Materials. Photoshop a Bonus

  • Google, Facebook & Instagram for Promotions (Typically Organic, Unpaid methods)

  • Google Docs & Google Sheets for Managing Events

The Successful Candidate will be super organised and methodical in their approach with excellent planning & communication skills in English.

The Following Characteristics would be effervescent in the Perfect Match, However hitting 80% of these would already be rather impressive:

  • Foresight and Planning Skills

  • Organised, Methodical and Results Oriented

  • Very Computer Proficient

  • Multi Tasker

  • Excellent Communication Skills, both written & verbal more impressive with witty playful humour

  • Good Aesthetic for Design with associated basic software skills

  • Good Hosting Skills to host events where necessary

  • Creative & Problem Solving

Our Objective will be to successfully build our events to a vibrant Evening Calendar which reaches its peak season during the Winter Months. From there the role, and potentially team, might expand to events held outside the cafe space. In the foreseeable future and currently in planning the stages, our Next Venue will have dedicated Event Spaces with secondary mixed-use Event Zones for Social, Health, Theatrical, Musical and Private use.
